Snopes just put up an article about the draft, and it basically confirms what I said, with a little more. They're hiring now because a bunch of positions all created at the same time became vacant, because they were for a specific time, and that the draft, if there were one, would probably be only for some positions, because it would take too long to train everyone for regular service, and they would be too likely to break all the special equipment that the army has now.
